"When my external hard drive crashed, I lost over 10 years worth of important, personal data, financial information, family photos, contacts and more. After reviewing alternatives online, I choose Lowcostrecovery. Moreover, the price was unbeatable. They charged the lowest fee for the recovery and actual costs for replacement parts. This experience was an A+.”
Jeremy, CA
"Thank you so very much for saving me from myself! Can you say "back-up" from now on?"
Jim, CA
"Just wanted to thank you for a great & fast job recovering my drive. I would recommend you to anyone."
Andy, IL
"As a consumer, it seems you rarely get was is advertised. Not the case at all with Lowcostrecovery. We sent our drive in, you explained the problem, you gave us a quote that matched the prices listed on the site, and you sent us our memories back. We weren't charged hidden fees and we couldn't be happier."
Tom & Lisa, VA
"Needless to say "thanks" is a small gratitude for your quick turnaround and professional service (at a price I could afford!). That combination doesn't always work out well in most lines of business. I've already recommended you to several associates. Of course, we all hope we never need your services, but it can happen to anyone, and you're definitely the one call I'm going to make if it ever happens again."
Doug, NY.
"Thank you so much for your services! I will definitely be letting others know about your service, as I know that low cost data recovery is difficult to come by and I am extremely pleased not only with the cost, but also with your communications in keeping me up to date with the process. Thank you again."
Shawn, PA.
"Thank God that I found Lowcostrecovery. I work out of my home office. My computer is only a couple of years old. My hard drive crashed one morning and it was terrible. I could not even turn my computer on. Needless to say I was desperate and started making the normal panic frustrating toll free phone calls. I used the Internet for Data Recovery and was shocked by the amount these companies charge...Then I found Lowcostrecovery and they saved all of my data (everything). I was totally satisfied with their pricing and response time."
Mike, CA.
"When I sent my dead hard drive in, I crossed my fingers and prayed. I was afraid that I’d never see my photo collection again. The same day that it was received, they called me to say that my pictures were saved! Yay! Great results! Great turn around! Great price!"
Brandon, CA.
Recovery Process
Every hard drive that comes in follows this nine step recovery process. Some hard drives may skip certain steps if they need parts or become unrecoverable.
Step 1
New Hard Drive: All drives fall into this step when they come in for a diagnosis. The customer is informed that the drive has arrived and a diagnosis has started. Please fill out and include the recovery services form with your shipment.
Step 2
Diagnosis: The diagnosis from delivery may take up to two business days. The customer is contacted with the diagnosis and asked if they want to continue the recovery process. Once we have an approval from the customer we continue the recovery.
Step 3
Locating Parts: If parts are needed the customer is informed and the process of locating donor parts is started. Most parts are usually located within five days or less but some can take up to thirty days depending on how rare the drive is.
Step 4
Parts Located: The customer is informed that some or all parts have been located and purchased. It may take up to ten business days depending on what part of the world the parts were purchased from. About 95% of all the donor parts we purchase come from the United States and arrive within one to five business days.
Step 5
Repairing: Parts have arrived and the repair process is started to recover the customers requested data. This process can take up to three days depending on the drive damage. About 90% of the time this process takes 1 to 24 hours.
Step 6
Data Recovered: The requested data is recovered and backed up to our servers for safe keeping. The customer is informed of the percentage of data recovered. A directory list or pictures of the requested data are sent out for the customer to verify. We then wait for the customer's approval.
Step 7
Payment Request: After the customer has verified that all the data has been recovered we then send out an invoice. This invoice is sent out via email with a link to our secured online payment provider.
Step 8
Not Recoverable: A drive may become unrecoverable for four reasons:
- The initial diagnosis found damage that would make the drive unrecoverable.
- The parts located did not repair the drive due to unforeseen platter damage.
- The drive is rare and parts could not be located.
- Customer has declined to continue with the recovery.
The customer is informed of the status of the drive and asked if they would like the drive returned. A shipping invoice is sent out if the customer wants the drive returned.
Step 9
Payment Completed: After the invoice is paid we begin the recovery media creation process. This process can take 1 to 48 hours for CDR and DVD-R recovery media. If a new recovery drive is requested, we order the drive from a local company and recover the data to the new drive. When the recovery is ready to be shipped out the customer is emailed a tracking number. All shipments must be signed for and insurance is optional.
